Raspberry Matcha Latte

Delicious Raspberry Matcha Latte Recipe for a Refreshing Boost

Raspberries – those little, dark-pink gems of goodness – are packed with fibre, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. So imagine how good you'd feel after a raspberry matcha latte.

This Insta-worthy drink tastes as good as it looks, and you can make it at home with this easy recipe. The combination of earthy matcha and sweet, tangy raspberries tastes amazing, and gives a real refreshing burst of energy. It's as nourishing as it is delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons of Matcha Flow
  • 250ml of plant-based milk - almond or oat milk, or your own preferred option
  • 200g of raspberries - fresh or frozen
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of hot water
  • Ice cubes

Equipment Needed

You don't need much at all to make this recipe at home, and certainly nothing special. Here's what you'll need ready:

  • Saucepan
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tall glass or mason jar

Instructions

Follow these simple steps to create your own delightful raspberry matcha latte:

  1. First off, on a gentle heat, soften the raspberries in a saucepan with the sugar, until they're softened. This is your raspberry mixture.
  2. Once your mixture is nice and soft, take it off the heat and leave it to cool.
  3. Whilst your raspberry mix is cooling, add 2 tsp of Matcha Flow into a separate bowl. Gradually whisk in 2 tbsp of hot water until thoroughly combined and frothy.
  4. Now, check that your raspberry mixture is cool. If it is, go ahead and pour it into your serving glass, with ice in it.
  5. Gently pour the milk on top of the raspberry mixture.
  6. Lastly, add the Matcha Flow blend into your glass, and watch the layers meld together like the Northern Lights!

Enjoy immediately. The raspberry matcha latte is best enjoyed right after preparation.

Serving Tips

We quite liked this drink just as it is, but if you want a bit of fun with it, here are a few suggestions:

  • Garnish with Fresh Raspberries: Adding a handful of fresh raspberries on top not only adds a burst of colour but also accentuates the berry flavour.
  • A Drizzle of Honey or Maple Syrup: For those with a sweet tooth, a light drizzle of honey or maple syrup can give a luscious finish.
  • Sprinkle with Matcha Powder: A delicate dusting of matcha powder on the top layer can enhance the earthy flavour. It also adds a beautiful contrast to the creamy layers beneath.
  • Serve in a Stylish Glass: Using clear or minimalist glassware allows you and your guests to appreciate the stunning layers of the latte.
  • Pair with a Healthy Snack: A nut-based energy ball or a slice of almond flour banana bread pair really nicely with this latte.
  • Experiment with Flavoured Milks: Using flavoured milks such as vanilla almond or coconut can introduce new taste dimensions. This adds richness and enhanced flavour profiles without compromising on health. Avoid dairy milk though, as this can counteract the benefits of the Matcha.

Storing

This raspberry matcha latte is best enjoyed immediately for optimal flavour and freshness. But, if we prepare it in advance, we can store it in the fridge for a few hours - just be mindful that the layers may blend.

Do Matcha And Raspberry Taste Good Together?

Yes, absolutely! Matcha tastes great with many different fruits (so if you're not a fan of raspberries, you could swap them for something else, like strawberries).

We love raspberries with matcha because they're svelte in design and easy to soften, and they balance out the earthy taste of matcha with a zesty sweetness. It's the perfect combo.

Summary

Taste is a big part of a recipe like this one; if it tastes good, it's worth a little effort, and we're more likely to keep on enjoying it. But more importantly, it makes it easier and more fun to consistently soak up all the benefits of both matcha and raspberries.

Raspberries are rich in antioxidants, are an excellent source of vitamin C, and have a significant amount of dietary fibre, which aids in digestion and helps maintain a healthy gut.

They're also low in calories, and act as anti-inflammatories, too. Combine this with the boost you get from matcha – specifically the nutritional value from Matcha Flow – and you have one seriously good matcha latte, in every sense of the word.
